Jose Wejebe
Born in Havana, Cuba in 1958, Jose Wejebe grew up in a politically tumultuous time. Fidel Castro leading the Cuban revolution had just seized power and was imposing communist ways on the country. The new government then began taking land, money and property from some of the families with claims that the property now belongs to the "revolution"...

Rigging a Fly Rod - Start to Finish
Using Power Pro Hollow Ace Braid for backing these days, so I like to wrap a layer of electrical tape on the core of the fly reel. Since the line is so "slippery" the tape gives the braid something to "grab" on to.

Amazon Jungle Fishing
A trip into the Brazilian Amazon typically starts off in Manaus, the capital of the Amazonas state. Manaus is situated at the confluence of the Negro and Solimões rivers and has a population of about 2 million people. While manaus was simply a jump point for our trip to the Rio Travessao, we were able to spend a little time checking out the local fish market
Jose and Friends Make A Long Trip to Isla Mujeres
When you’re planning to negotiate over 500 miles of open ocean you tend to keep a close eye on the weather and how it’s going to affect your trip. We started calling Weather Routers a couple of days ago for a comprehensive analysis of the weather and sea conditions we could anticipate during our crossing
Louisiana Redfishing with the Holeman Brothers
The best fishing trips sometimes come when you least expect them. I recently heard from a friend about a place tucked away in the Louisiana marsh where the "hot" redfish action would make you glad it wasn't summer. This redfisherman's haven, called Hopedale, was not only home to HUGE redfish during these winter months, but also to a couple of die-hard fishing guides, Travis and Bryan "Bear" Holeman. AKA... The Holeman Brothers!
Key West Wahoo & Sharks

In Key West, what happens when you mix blood and guts, wahoo and sharks, in the wintertime? Well, down here, we go swimming!

This is the time of year that we spend a fair amount of time close to the edge of the reef just off Key West. Most of the inshore water is cold, but the warm offshore waters of the Gulf Stream move in closer.

Fishing Cosmoledo with Frontier Fly Fishing
What do you do when you get a call from a couple of guys from South Africa who say they want to take you on an expedition to some of the most remote atolls in the Seychelles Island chain. You reply "when, where, yes please!"
Sabi Sabi Wildlife Reserve, South Africa
Last year we went on an extended expedition to the Indian Ocean to fish the untouched atolls of the southeastern-most Seychelles Islands. On our way to the Seychelles, we had stopped in Johannesburg South Africa to gather our gear and prepare for the next leg of our "journey". It was there that our friends and hosts, Dean Riphagen and Tom Lewin, owners of Frontier Fly Fishing, introduced us to Rob Wyndham who oversees the Game Preserve called Sabi Sabi.
Good Friends and Fishing Memories
by Christian Goodpaster

As the Action-Craft skiff begins to come on plane across the greenish tinted water, I am thankful I have been blessed for another day of life. Today isn't just another day, today I'm fishing and filming with Jose Wejebe in the Florida Keys. Our quarry; fish and reflections of the past and present. A celebration of the "bro's!"

Urban Nature, Banana River Florida
My name is Derek Redwine. After many years of being friends with Jose Wejebe, he recently asked me if my family and I would be interested in doing a fishing show with him. After I picked myself up off the ground, we talked through some ideas. Jose made it clear he really just wanted us to do what we do.

This was very special to us because he wasn't asking us to be a fishing guide, captain, or expert on the river...he was just asking us to be a family and show him how we like to explore the outdoors and pass on our passion on to our child.

Remembering Jose
Sharing a few stories of how Jose touched the lives of others through his good will and love of the ocean and fishing.

Deep jigging with Shimano Butterfly Jigs
Deep jigging has always been a very productive way of catching fish all up and down the water column. Traditionally most of that has been done with a large heavy bucktail or nylon jig. The jig is dropped to the bottom and then retrieved to the surface.
Sea Vee 34 Spanish Fly Boat with triple Mercury Verado Outboards
I am currently working with Sea Vee Boats to build the new Spanish Fly. It is going to be a 34', center console with triple Mercury Verados. I have never been a fan of the hype of triple engines boats, until I rode in that same boat and was really impressed with the performance, balance and speed of the whole rig.
Shimano’s New Products
Shimano had their annual customer meetings in Key West in May. I got to be a fly on the wall and attend some of their meetings. I was able to check out their new products for the upcoming year. Some of the stuff, no one knows about or even has been announced yet, so it was really cool. I took some video at the conference and will be showing viewers some sneak peeks on our website of what's to come from Shimano. Stay tuned

Journey to the Galapagos
This year while shooting the shows, the crew and I departed on what would be a trip of a life time to the remote islands of the Galapagos. The Galapagos are an archipelago of volcanic islands situated near the equator about 1000Km off the coast of Ecuador. These geologically young islands are best known for their pristine natural environment and vast number of endemic species which led to the inception of Charles Darwin's theory of evolution. The islands and their surrounding waters have been protected as a national park and marine sanctuary since the 1960s in an effort to maintain their pristine natural condition.
